Forest School- 17.6.22

Today in Forest School, Oak and Chestnut Class did a range of different activities. First they had to draw around each other in chalk and then decorate their outline. They then had to use ‘invisible paint’ to make their chalk pictures disappear. As a final activity they had to work as a team to transport as much water from the bucket to the tray as they could. Reds transported the most! Well done Reds, good team work!

Forest School- Making dens

Oak & Chestnut Class had a wonderful afternoon in the sunshine today building dens for Lego people. They used a range of natural objects and found some really clever ways of making sticks stand up and even gave the dens fancy things like ‘hot tubs’!

Jubilee Day

Oak and Chestnut Class have had a wonderful day celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee before we break up for half term. Oak Class baked scones and Chestnut Class decorated biscuits and made sandwiches and both classes got together for a tea party. This was followed by a Forest School session where they made natural crowns. We hope everybody has a brilliant half term!

Pigeons!

Oak and Chestnut Class were really lucky today and got to meet some pigeons. Our site supervisor, Phil Graseley, looks after pigeons and races them. He brought some of them in today for the children to look at and stroke. They even got to feel their heartbeats! Phil then let them free and he will send in some photos to show they got safely back home.

Reception trip to Borwick Hall

Reception have had an absolutely wonderful day at Borwick Hall today. We got to take part in orienteering, a scavenger hunt, making butterfly attractors, rock climbing, bug hotel building, caving and some problem solving activities. We also had some free time to just enjoy the sunshine as well as lunch around the camp fire. Pete, our instructor said we had given him a fantastic day and that we were a credit to our school! Well done to you all! What a fantastic day!
