Rights and Responsibilities

We have Rights and Responsibilities rather than rules and our aim is always to develop a sense of responsibility among the children so that they understand appropriate behaviours and behave accordingly whether they know that an adult is watching or not! Our Rights and Responsibilities weave through all that we do and the children learn about these frequently in class and assemblies.

I have the right to be heard.

I have the responsibility to listen to others.

I have the right to be safe and healthy.

I have the responsibility to keep myself and others safe and healthy.

I have the right to learn.

I have the responsibility to do my best at all times and look after equipment.

I have the right to have friends.

I have the responsibility to be kind to others.

I have the right to be myself.

I have the responsibility to respect others’ differences.
