Swimming

As part of the curriculum, our Year 5 and 6 children go swimming to Carnforth Pool each week.  They learn many skills including a range of strokes and personal water safety.  If a child wears goggles, they will need a permission letter from parents (available from school).  For some parts of the year, Year 4 children swim and occasionally both Year 3 and 4 children have a one-off session.

We also have a PTFA swimming club at Carnforth Pool which many of our younger children from Reception year attend. They have many opportunities to earn badges for distance swimming and other water-based skills.

Each year our Year 5 an 6 children take place in a gala competing against other schools at Salt Ayre pool.
