Sports

We encourage participation in lots of sporting activities both as part of the curriculum, through clubs and also events with other schools. We are part of a cluster of local schools so that we can be involved in competitions and events across a wide range of sports locally.  We also have a small schools football league in which we have a girls’ team, senior team (Y4,5,6) and junior team (Y2,3,4) playing fixtures home and away.  Sporting events we often take part in include: athletics, golf, multi-skills for infants, dodge ball, handball, dance, cross country, cricket and tennis.  Our specialist PE teacher, Nicola Hunter-Dale is very skilful in working with our teachers to equip the children with the skills for many sports in PE lessons.  We also have a running track which we use to Run A Mile regularly.  The children learn about the benefits of sports for enjoyment and keeping fit through PE, PSHE and general school life.
