If your child is isolating and is well enough, here are some activities that will keep them busy and learning!
In Maths we are learning how to add and subtract.
In English we are learning our alphabet and how to use alphabetical order. As an activity, find some food items from around the house. Yr1 children just choose 3 items, Yr2 children maybe 5 items. Arrange the items in alphabetical order them write them in a list. Repeat with another group of different food items. Challenge yourself to order a larger group of objects.
Extension : Write a list with a food item for each letter of the alphabet. (Eg: Avocado, Banana, Cucumber etc)
We are also learning about how to change a word from singular (when there is just one of something) to plural (when there is more than one of something. Have a go at these worksheets:
In Science, Chestnut Class have been learning that animals have offspring which grow into adults. Do some research to find out about baby animals and what they grow into. Try to use their proper names such as a kitten grows into a cat.
Our Geography for this week is to sort the photos into ones that you think are the UK and the ones that you think are the Caribbean.
Here is the link to the Christmas play songs. If your child is isolating then it would be great if they could practise these.
