Children in Need Cake Sale

We had a lovely time celebrating Odd Socks day this week. We were wearing them to help us think about how everyone is different and we have to respect each other’s differences. This linked in with our assembly theme of Anti-Bullying Week.
Sycamore had lots of fun today using our brand-new orienteering course! We had to use maps carefully to find different times tables questions scattered around the school grounds. We noted down our answers accurately and made sure to check them at the end of the session.
We had a fabulous time doing a ‘Dress Like A Creature’ day and raised lots of money for the RSPCA. Well done everyone, the costumes were fantastic!
Sycamore Class had a beautiful day for their trip to Borwick Hall. They had a wonderful time canoeing, rock climbing and doing a pond traverse course.
We had a great time yesterday for our Maths Open Afternoon. Thank you to all the parents who joined us for an afternoon of Maths!
Sycamore designed their own Roman towns, using clues to work out where best to place the homes and facilities! We were shocked at the difference between Celtic settlements already found in the UK and the advanced settlements the Romans built when they invaded (which even included bathhouses and a theatre!) We planned our designs as a group and worked on our final designs independently.
Sycamore Class made a range of 3D shapes with cocktail sticks and sweet. What a yummy lesson!
