Phonics and Number Hunt
Oak Class enjoyed hunting for numbers and their phonics sounds outside.

Chestnut Class have been using different objects to represent different numbers in Maths.
Oak Class had their first Phonics lesson on Monday, focusing on the sound ‘s’. We used magic paint to make them all disappear! Geraldine Giraffe also helped us to think of some words that begin with ‘s’.
Oak Class have had a lovely time at school so far. We have been exploring our school grounds through Forest School, developing our fine and gross motor skills through painting, crafting, climbing and many other exciting things and have shared many wonderful stories! We are developing some good friendships with each other and starting to understand the routines of the day. We have started learning some of our sounds and we have even done some learning about numbers! It has been a very busy start!
Chestnut Class loved their day at Borwick Hall. They used great teamwork skills while they were bell boating, on a beach walk and toasting marshmallows on a fire.
Beech Class had a fantastic day at Borwick Hall trying activities a lot of them hadn’t tried before. They used their skills of risk taking and resilience while canoeing, tree climbing, archery and taking part in team building games.
Sycamore Class had a fantastic day at Borwick Hall. Everyone persevered and tried their best all day while taking part in the low ropes course, climbing or bouldering, caving and canoeing.
Beech Class took part in a range of problem solving and team-building activities on the first day back. They needed to use many of the Planet Inspiration characters especially Cooperation, Communication, Creativity and Perseverance. They were impressive in the way they worked together, figured out solutions to problems and supported each other.
A few photos from Beech Class’ Assembly saying goodbye to our wonderful Year 6s. It was a great performance with a lot of laughs and a few tears as well! We wish our Year 6s all the luck for their futures and you are always welcome to come back and visit!
