Trip to the Park

Oak Class made the most of the beautiful weather and took a trip up to the new park. We had a great time exploring!

Arran Art

Beech Class looked at art by contemporary artists depicting Arran and we imitated their work using a range of media including: Brusho, oil pastel, wax crayon and acrylic paint.

Etel Adnan Art

Beech Class studied the art of Etel Adnan, a Lebanese artist and we imitated our work following experimentation with mixing colours and learning how to choose colours that work well together.

DT Cushions

Beech Class used a range of dying techniques including resist, Brusho and tie-dye to decorate the cushions we designed and made in DT.

Textile Art

Beech Class used a range of stitches to attach fabric and other items to depict underwater scenes linked with our Our Blue Planet theme.

African Art

Beech Class studied the art of a range of contemporary African artists and imitated their work linked with our work about Africa during our Global Citizens theme.  We used a range of media including: acrylic paint, water colour and oil pastel resist, felt pen and poster paint.

Materials and Structures

In DT, Sycamore Class have been looking at how to strengthen structures using triangles. They used this knowledge to create Roman Siege Towers using cardboard and wood. They developed their measuring, sawing and joining skills to include drawbridges, battering rams and moving wheels on their towers.

Sycamore’s Volcano Art

Sycamore Class created images of volcanoes using wax resist and water colour linked to our work on Italy and Pompeii while studying the Romans.

Sycamore Class Weaving

Sycamore Class created weaving designs using a range of textiles to convey images of the sea as part of our work on Our Blue Planet.

Chestnut Class Tints and Shades

Chestnut Class explored colour mixing and creating tints then shades by mixing white then black paint with our base colour. We created landscapes linked to our work on Africa in our Global Citizens theme.
