Oak Class have had a wonderful day in the snow today! We spent the first half of the morning getting all our snuggly clothes on and going outside to make snow sculptures and writing in the snow with paint brushes. After that we came in and warmed up with some hot chocolate and marshmallows and watched The Snowman. We had so much fun!
This week in Oak Class we have been celebrating and learning about Diwali. We have dressed up in traditional Indian dress, danced to Diwali music, watched videos of fireworks, made coconut barfi, done firework art and even lit our classroom up with fairy lights. We have had a wonderful week!
All the children in Oak Class have had a fantastic start this year. They have been busy learning new things, exploring new areas and making new friends. We are so proud of how far they have come already! Here are a selection of phots from their first few weeks. We hope everyone has a wonderful half term!
Oak and Chestnut Classes had their first Forest School session together today. They had to create lots of different shapes using natural objects. They were fab, and the Year 1s and 2s did a great job of looking after the new children and showing them the right things to do. We had a fantastic time!
This week we have been preparing for a unit on Julia Donaldson’s, The Scarecrows’ Wedding. We explored the straw to see what it felt like and today we built our very own class scarecrow. Meet… Junior!
Yesterday, we were very lucky to welcome our very own gold medalist, Stuart Robinson into assembly. Stuart won gold in the wheelchair rugby in Tokyo this summer. He spoke to us about how we can reach our goals if we put the time and effort in. He really is an inspiration to us all!
Oak Class had a great day outdoors, building a fire, toasting marshmallows and picking and eating the pea pods from our school garden. What a lovely end to the year!
