Forest Schools-Measuring

Today in our Forest Schools session Oak and Chestnut Class used string to find trees with a circumference that was smaller, bigger and the same size as their piece of string. They then had to find some natural objects of different sizes and order them. We had some fantastic teamwork going on!

Symmetry- Forest Schools

Today in our Forest School session we made some symmetrical patterns using natural objects. We made some beautiful patterns. When we had finished using natural objects, we also had a go at drawing a symmetrical picture on the playground with chalk.

Orbiting

Today in our forest school session we talked about the sun being a star and how different planets orbit the sun. One person got to be the sun and we had a go at orbiting in rings around them. We also found other things in the playground that we could orbit. We had a go at making stars from different natural things. They were all wonderful!

Planting Potatoes

Mrs Perry took some children out to plant some potatoes in our garden. The children had loads of fun and we can’t wait to see how they turn out!

Data Collection

During our Maths lesson we collected data about people’s favourite things such as their favourite ice cream flavour and favourite colour. We will use this data to create some block graphs.

Conserving Water

Oak and Chestnut class have been busy this afternoon (16th April) learning about conserving water and why water is so important to our planet. Their challenge was to work as a team to move as much water from one container to another container using only a spoon. The challenge was trying to conserve as much as possible!
