Chestnut Class have also written letters to Santa. We went on a walk to post them, stopping at the water pump on the way back to talk about what it was used for.

We had a lovely time raising money for St John’s Hospice this morning, running a mile with our antlers on. Everyone did so well and tried so hard!

Oak and Chestnut had a lovely Christmas dinner today. They had crackers, festive music and a lovely roast dinner!

A sneak peak at some of our wonderful costumes. The children had their first dress rehearsal today and they did so well!

In R.E, Chestnut class have been learning about how Christians celebrate Christmas. They learnt all about Christingles and then had a go at making their own.

Chestnut Class have been learning all about why we mark Remembrance Day with poppies. They have done lots of writing and craft activities around poppies and the customs around Remembrance Day.

In Chestnut Class we have had some wonderful homework challenges that have been brought in. We are so proud of all of them!

Today, Chestnut Class went out to collect lots of different sized sticks. They then used loom bands, glittery pipe cleaners, feathers, glitter and sequins to decorate them to make them look like sparklers. We had great fun and made lots of mess!

Chestnut Class have had a wonderful time at Haverthwaite Railway today. The weather was fantastic and we really enjoyed everything! We went on the train to Lakeside and back again, had a picnic, played on the adventure playground and had a look around the engine room.

Chestnut Class have been designing and building their own trains and today they made a headband with their train on to show people what it looked like. They then did lots of talking with each other about what their train could do in preparation for a unit on persuasive writing next week.
