The Lake District Trip
The whole school had a wonderful day out in the Lake District. The weather wasn’t completely on our side but it didn’t dampen our spirits. We had a great time exploring Wray Castle and Brockholes.

Beech Class had a great time at Heaves Farm last week. Everyone got the opportunity to do a range of different activities such as looking at bees, calves, eating eggy bread, and learning about where our meat comes from. There were too many activities to count and everyone got to see a range of different things!
Oak Class had a visit from Nurse Stephanie (Mrs Laycock’s mum) yesterday. She talked to us about how nursing has changed over time and everyone got a chance to have a go at taking each other’s blood pressure, checking each other’s oxygen and temperature as well as bandaging each other. Some of us even managed to hear our heart beats! Thank you so much Nurse Stephanie for coming to visit us. We learnt loads!
Miss Bradbury’s group had a brilliant time gorge scrambling this morning in North Glen Sannox. They really enjoyed the hot chocolate to warm up when they finished!!
Abseiling for Mrs Sharpe’s group this morning followed by lunch on the beach before the rain started.
Mrs Wren’s group were kayaking and seal spotting/beach combing.
Gorge walking for Mrs Sharpe’s team. They’ve had a whale of a time sliding, scrambling and leaping into pools. Everyone challenged themselves and took a risk and were so impressive. Mrs Sharpe and Mrs Starr were so proud! After they got back to the minibus they were rewarded with a nice warm hot chocolate!
Beech Class have arrived safely. They have had tea and been on a trip to the lifeboat station.
Martin, one of our instructors, is the coxswain so showed them around. They tried on some of the equipment and sat on the lifeboat to learn about all of the gadgets they have on board.
A couple of behind the scenes photos of Oak Class making their Father’s Day biscuits.
Chestnut Class have been learning how to make shades and tints. After exploring these on colour strips they made their own landscape pictures.
Some children from Chestnut Class took part in a Year 1 & 2 Football Tournament this week. All children were great and represented school really well.
