Sycamore Class made zoetropes in DT, a popular toy from the Victorian times! We thought carefully about our designs, making sure our animations transitioned smoothly and we really enjoyed trying them out!

Chestnut Class have been making the most of the nice weather with some outdoor maths. We were throwing beanbags into hoops, then adding and taking away to see how many points we had won. Some great use of number lines on show!
Chestnut Class had a beautiful day out visiting the Peter Rabbit exhibition and walking up Orrest Head.
This week Beech class had an electricity workshop where we applied key learning from our current science topic on circuits. We heard about lots of different STEM jobs related to electricity.
Sycamore Class’s PE focus is Orienteering. We have started by learning to set our map and orientate ourselves in a space and using our new skills to navigate around different sets of cones. Next, we will be using our orienteering course to further our map reading skills.
Sycamore Class visited Leighton Hall as part of their History topic, The Victorians. We were lucky enough to be taken on a guided tour, in which we learnt about the hall in Victorian times. We had the opportunity to try on Victorian clothes, play Victorian games and discover how they were educated! It was very different to life in workhouses and orphanages!
