Chestnut Class have been learning about engineers. They had a science show by a visiting company where they had to help some alien visitors solve a problem. They also took part in class workshops where they used various materials to create inventions to protect an egg on a journey!
Chestnut Class enjoyed creating their collages to show how trees change throughout the year.
Chestnut Class have been using different objects to represent different numbers in Maths.
Chestnut Class loved their day at Borwick Hall. They used great teamwork skills while they were bell boating, on a beach walk and toasting marshmallows on a fire.
Chestnut Class explored colour mixing and creating tints then shades by mixing white then black paint with our base colour. We created landscapes linked to our work on Africa in our Global Citizens theme.
Chestnut Class have used their sewing skills to make some soft toys. They look very cuddly!
Chestnut Class took a trip to St Mark’s the local church today. We met Reverend Peter who answered all of our questions and showed us some of the special items around the church. We even got to ring the bell!
The whole school had a wonderful day out in the Lake District. The weather wasn’t completely on our side but it didn’t dampen our spirits. We had a great time exploring Wray Castle and Brockholes.
Chestnut Class have been learning how to make shades and tints. After exploring these on colour strips they made their own landscape pictures.
