Girls Football Match

Some of our KS2 girls took part in a mini football festival at Arkholme school. They played so well as part of a team and we are very proud of them!

Beech Class Visit

Beech Class visited Masjid Salaam Mosque learning lots about Islam and different fragrances. We also visited the Museum of Lancashire WWII to link with our learning in history.

Light and Reflection

Beech Class have been learning about light and reflection in science this term. They explored uses of reflection by creating their own periscopes.

Football Tournament

Our football team enjoyed taking part in a tournament. Well done for reaching the semi finals!

Cross Country

Some children from Beech and Sycamore Classes took part in a cross country competition. We represented school very well and came back with one bronze, silver and gold medal, earning us 2nd place overall.

Beech Class Drama

Beech Class are doing drama sessions based on evacuees in WWII. They acted out the actions and emotions that children of the time might have experienced. The first session was set in the city where the children in our story lived and their experience of air raids, their father going away to fight and finding out that they were to be evacuated to the countryside. The final scene showed them leaving on the train that took their whole school away from their city.

Archery

Recently, Beech Class had the opportunity to have an archery competition in school. Our results will be compared with other schools in the area and we will have to wait to see if we have any winners.

Beech Class Christmas Party

Beech Class all had a fantastic Christmas party with dancing and games such as pass the parcel and the chocolate game, followed by lots of lovely party food.

Beech Class Reindeer Dash

Beech Class wore their antlers and ran the reindeer dash to raise money for St John’s Hospice.

Christmas Around the World Presentations

Everyone in Beech Class worked in pairs to research and present information about Christmas celebrations around the world. We are developing our public speaking and presentation skills using volume, expression and gesture. We found out about 16 countries including: Armenia, Portugal, Columbia, Italy and Germany.
