Beech Class Art

Beech Class were in our garden doing observational drawings of our beautiful plants to inspire their water colour paintings.

Gardening

Beech Class gardening club have been doing lots of gardening recently to try and get the garden looking lovely again and they have definitely succeeded! They did some weeding of our vegetable patches.

End of SATs week

The Year 6s had a lovely breakfast celebration on the last day of SATs!

Colour wheel art

Beech Class explored the colour wheel in art.  We collected all sorts of natural things from our grounds and then used primary colours mixed together to make as close a match as possible to the item we had chosen.  We found that some colours we needed to use to achieve our final shade were surprising!

NISCU assembly

Debbie from NISCU came in this morning to do an Easter assembly. We learnt about why Christians celebrate Easter and did some singing.

Cricket Taster Session

Chestnut and Beech have had a lovely, sunny afternoon doing a cricket taster session today. A lovely way to end the week!

Life on the Ocean Waves Theme Day

The whole school had a wonderful day dressed up as pirates and taking part in lots of different activities. We created pirate finger puppets, created and raced our own boats, made treasure maps, practised walking the plank, sang sea shanties, built dens and cooked pirate food.

DT in Beech Class

Children in Beech Class are designing and making their own cushions using tie-dyeing and batiq techniques to decorate their fabric. We are learning about seam allowances, hems, pinning and using back stitch.

Beech Class trip to Lancaster and Morecambe

Beech Class had a great day out in Lancaster and Morecambe. They were dropped off at The Midland Hotel and had a explore around there, walking up to the Stone Jetty. They also went to a church to do some research and then went to the Maritime Museum. What a busy day!
