Musical P4C

Beech Class explored concepts that we come across in P4C through music.  We thought of a range of concepts including: beauty, freedom, boredom, creativity, friendship, kindness, bravery, cooperation, etc.  We worked in group and chose a concept.  We then worked together with musical instruments to compose a piece of music to represent that concept.

Friction Investigation

Beech Class did a friction investigation on different surfaces.

Greek Myths

A few more photos from Beech Class’ Imagining History session.

Imagining History- Beech Class

Beech Class had a visit from Imagining History – we learned a lot about Ancient Greek myths and about the origin of the Olympic Games.  We had lots of fun using drama to recreate some scenes from these events. Can you guess which Olympic sport or Ancient Greek Myth we are acting out?

Team Building Games

As part of our PSHE topic and to get to know each other and build good relationships, Beech Class took part in a range of different team building games.

Pete’s Guitar Assembly

Before summer, Pete, our guitar teacher, put on an assembly to demonstrate the skills that his pupils have learnt this year. It was fantastic and we all had a good boogie! Pete will be offering guitar lessons in school again in the new academic year. Just ask at the school office for information such as prices etc.

Year 6 Leavers Assembly

Beech Class did a wonderful job during their leavers assembly today which left no dry eyes in the house. It was a wonderful way to say goodbye to Year 6 and we hope that you all come back and visit us soon!

Meet the new Beech Class 2023-2024

The new Y5 pitted themselves against the new Y6 in some team games – and came away victorious!  We then worked in class to learn more about each other and for the new Y5, to find our way around our new classroom.  Mrs Starr thinks we are going to make fantastic role models to everyone else in school.

Sponge the School Council

To raise money for the PTA we had a summer themed dress up day. As part of this the school council volunteered to be sponged. Great fun was had by all (except maybe the school council!).

Puberty and Growing up

Beech Class learned all about puberty and growing up today.  We watched the ‘Operation Ouch’ episode all about body changes and asked some good questions.  We then worked in groups of boys or girls to find out a bit more about changes in our body and how to keep healthy.  They should have lots to tell you, and more questions for you at home too.
