Beech Class Fun Afternoon
A well deserved afternoon of fun after a busy week of tests!

In PSHE this week, we discussed this week’s assembly theme “putting ourselves in someone else’s shoes”. We read the David McKee book “Two Monsters” and then used pairs of “perspectacles” to look “through our partner’s eyes”. Following on from this, in circle time, we discussed the many occasions when it is important for us to try to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes and ways in which we can do that.
A visitor from Junior Stem brought a fascinating robotics project to Beech Class this week. They used coding to control computerised Lego creations. Included in this was creating sounds, controlling a light, creating motion, and using sensors.
Beech Class have enjoyed using a wide range of gymnastics apparatus in their PE lessons this term. Here are some snippets of their use of apparatus within sequences including a range of balances and jumps.
Mr Wilcock has been teaching Beech Class how to be Sports Leaders. They will now be able to run activities for the younger children at lunchtime.
All the classes took part in a willow workshop this week. We now have a beautiful tunnel to go with our willow dome.
Beech Class had a wonderful trip to Morecambe and the Maritime Museum in Lancaster.
