Cricket Taster Session

Chestnut and Beech have had a lovely, sunny afternoon doing a cricket taster session today. A lovely way to end the week!

Tricky word phonics

Miss Molloy’s Phonics group made the most of the sunshine this week. They had to shoot the tricky words with water pistols. They may have got Miss Molloy a little bit as well!

Life on the Ocean Waves Theme Day

The whole school had a wonderful day dressed up as pirates and taking part in lots of different activities. We created pirate finger puppets, created and raced our own boats, made treasure maps, practised walking the plank, sang sea shanties, built dens and cooked pirate food.

Children in Beech Class are designing and making their own cushions using tie-dyeing and batiq techniques to decorate their fabric. We are learning about seam allowances, hems, pinning and using back stitch.

Sycamore’s trip to Leighton Moss

Sycamore Class had a wonderful time at Leighton Moss this week. They completed two activities over the day. One activity was called Discovering Birds in which they looked at feathers and nests and did some bird watching in a hide and on a sky tower. They also did an activity called a Living Things Trail where they followed a map and answered questions based on living things. What a brilliant day!

Beech Class trip to Lancaster and Morecambe

Beech Class had a great day out in Lancaster and Morecambe. They were dropped off at The Midland Hotel and had a explore around there, walking up to the Stone Jetty. They also went to a church to do some research and then went to the Maritime Museum. What a busy day!

We have been able to start up our paired reading in school again this term. Every other Tuesday afternoon, Sycamore read with Oak Class and Beech Class read with Chestnut Class. It has been lovely to see everyone together!
