End of SATs week
The Year 6s had a lovely breakfast celebration on the last day of SATs!

In English, Year 1&2 have been following and writing instructions. They had to sequence some instructions and then write some commands to go with them. They then got to follow the instructions and make their sandwiches (and eat them of course!).
Oak and Chestnut Class were really lucky today and got to meet some pigeons. Our site supervisor, Phil Graseley, looks after pigeons and races them. He brought some of them in today for the children to look at and stroke. They even got to feel their heartbeats! Phil then let them free and he will send in some photos to show they got safely back home.
Reception have had an absolutely wonderful day at Borwick Hall today. We got to take part in orienteering, a scavenger hunt, making butterfly attractors, rock climbing, bug hotel building, caving and some problem solving activities. We also had some free time to just enjoy the sunshine as well as lunch around the camp fire. Pete, our instructor said we had given him a fantastic day and that we were a credit to our school! Well done to you all! What a fantastic day!
Sycamore Class had loads of fun making ‘poo’ as part of their unit on the digestive system. They used Weetabix, banana and a pair of tights to demonstrate how the digestive system works. Their faces say it all!
Sycamore Class baked some cakes as part of their Maths lesson on mass. They used 2 eggs as the weight and weighed everything else against them. What a yummy lesson!
As part of their topic, Sycamore Class had a dental hygienist come in to talk to them about different types of teeth and how to look after them. They even had a go at doing the job themselves! Thank you so much for coming!
The children in Chestnut Class had a junk modelling session in English today to make some models of Grandma from our book ‘The Building Boy.’
