‘Coast’

We found out about all of the sea creatures which are now thriving in the ‘no take zone’ on Arran’s coast. We got to see and touch lots of interesting finds, and the highlight of the gift shop – Iron Bru!

A trip to the lifeboat station

Tuesday was very wet and windy so we spent the morning visiting the lifeboat station and ‘Coast’, the local sealife centre. We had lots of fun learning about the lifeboat and the role of the RNLI (and trying on all the gear) as well as finding out about conservation projects on the seabed around Arran.

Room inspections – Day 2

Reception trip to Borwick Hall

Reception have had an absolutely wonderful day at Borwick Hall today. We got to take part in orienteering, a scavenger hunt, making butterfly attractors, rock climbing, bug hotel building, caving and some problem solving activities. We also had some free time to just enjoy the sunshine as well as lunch around the camp fire. Pete, our instructor said we had given him a fantastic day and that we were a credit to our school! Well done to you all! What a fantastic day!

Sycamore’s trip to Leighton Moss

Sycamore Class had a wonderful time at Leighton Moss this week. They completed two activities over the day. One activity was called Discovering Birds in which they looked at feathers and nests and did some bird watching in a hide and on a sky tower. They also did an activity called a Living Things Trail where they followed a map and answered questions based on living things. What a brilliant day!

Wave Painting and Textiles by Beech Class

We painted acrylic paintings in the style of Maggie Hambling’s wave paintings. We used our paintings as inspiration for our textile work depicting waves. We used applique and a range of textiles, threads, sequins and beads to create waves and movement.
