Sycamore Class really enjoyed our visit from a man who lives in Kenya. We learnt lots of very interesting facts about volcanoes, particularly Mount Nyiragongo, Gorillas and Warthogs.
The PTA put on a lovely Mulled Wine and Mince Pies evening on Monday. It was a great festive event. Thank you to everyone who came along and of course to our wonderful PTA for organising it!
All the classes have taken part in an Elf Run today for St John’s Hospice. Thank you to everyone for their donations! Here are a few photos from Oak and Chestnut’s Elf Run.
All the classes had a great yoga session from the Yogi group this week focusing on breathing and staying calm.
Beech Class have had a go today at making a variety of different types of salsa. They then of course got to try them. Some of the facial expressions say it all!
Chestnut Class had a great time at Wray Castle and Brockholes yesterday taking part in a range of outdoor activities, playing on the adventure playground and visiting the shop.
As part of Sycamore class’s DT topic, we had the opportunity to make flatbreads, a meal people from the Stone Age enjoyed eating. They were really simple to make, simply mix self-raising flour and Greek yoghurt together. Then, we topped our flatbreads with a range of ‘Stone Age’ ingredients that would have been foraged by people at the time, including berries and vegetables. We were able to practise a range of techniques, such as kneading, cutting and grating. They were so tasty!
