Bake Sale

Oak Class have been very busy baking and decorating some delicious treats for our bake sale this afternoon! We hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Butterflies

This week was butterfly release day for Oak Class! Unfortunately we weren’t as lucky as Chestnut Class and they decided not to land on us (apart from one that landed on Mrs Laycock) but we did all say ‘goodbye’ as they flew off and we are hoping they will visit us again!

Stone Age Cave Art

Sycamore Class created their own pieces of Stone Age cave art in Art.  We created two different print blocks, one of an animal from the Stone Age and another of a Stone Age symbol.  We printed onto fabric and even included handprints and fingerprints in our designs!

Flatbreads

Sycamore Class made flatbreads, following in the footsteps of people in the Stone Age.  They topped their flatbreads with ingredients that people would have gathered including: strawberries, apples, raspberries and blackberries.  They were delicious!

Athletics Competition

Members of Sycamore Class were given the opportunity to participate in a Year 3/4 athletics competition at Arkholme.  Everyone had to take part in a running and throwing event.  We had a fantastic day and one of our teams even placed third! Well done!

Butterfly Release Day

It was butterfly release day for Chestnut Class today. Some of the butterflies wanted to stick around!

NISCU

Sycamore Class had a visit from NISCU to enhance our learning on the Holy Spirit.

Moorlands Day

Beech Class went to the Forest of Bowland to meet different people who worked in the moorland. We did activities with different people and organisations including the Wyre River Trust, tree surgeons and rural police.

Stone Age to Iron Age Workshop

We had a super day with Gareth, experiencing life from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.  We had the opportunity to make stone axes, copper sun disks, cave art and weave rope from bulrush!  It was fantastic!

Aim High Maths

Some children from Beech Class attended the Aim High maths event at Bowerham School. They spent the day problem solving and solving challenges.
