Skipping – Beech Class
Beech Class enjoyed practising their skipping skills and learning new tricks, such as double skipping.

Beech Class picked apples from our apple trees. We then made apple crumble using weighing skills and following a recipe. After this, we did maths based on proportions and measures linked with our recipe. Finally, we tasted our delicious crumble with custard!




Beech Class needed their resilience and risk taking skills at Borwick with their activities of canoeing on (and jumping in) the canal, archery and tree abseiling.

















































































Beech Class have been learning about forces and we took our learning outdoors to conduct an investigation about friction.
Beech Class went to the Forest of Bowland to meet different people who worked in the moorland. We did activities with different people and organisations including the Wyre River Trust, tree surgeons and rural police.

















Some children from Beech Class attended the Aim High maths event at Bowerham School. They spent the day problem solving and solving challenges.


Beech Class enjoyed learning first aid skills, including the recovery position and what to do when someone is choking.





Councilor Sarah McGowan visited school to talk to our school council, Sycamore Class and Beech Class about the current views and concerns about our local area.






Last week was SATs week for Y6. They all came into school early each morning for lots of toast (and chocolate!) before doing their tests. At the end of the week the whole of Beech Class had a day of maths games, rounders and a party to celebrate the end of a busy week.
