Our School Council organised an upcycling competition. We had lots of entries and they judged the entries to find winners for being either decorative or functional or both. Entries included: a chicken perch, musical instruments, pen pots, sculptures, a mosaic pot, games, flowers, a toy house. Well done everyone who entered. Winning entries were a water filter by Ollie (Y6), a pirate snow globe by Olivia Br (Y6), a bird feeder by Seth (Y4), a lava lamp by Liliana (Y4), a mosaic pot by Loki (Y3), a giant turtle by Heidi (Y3), a ping pong ball game by Freddie (Y2), a model lunchbox by Ferne (Y2) and a cereal dispenser by Isabelle (YR).
Sycamore Class experimented with watercolour while painting Italian landscapes.
Sycamore Class used and progressed their weaving skills to create a sea themed picture.
Sycamore Class have been learning new watercolour painting techniques to recreate Canaletto’s paintings of Venice.
Some of our KS2 school councilors had a great team building experience with other schools at Bleasdale School.
Sycamore Class enjoyed our trip to the Buddhist Temple near Ulverston. We learnt a lot about different symbols used in Buddhism, the life of Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) and key values of Buddhism. We then enjoyed exploring the beach and creating natural sculptures.

Sycamore Class enjoyed our cricket workshop with Lauren from Lancashire Cricket. We practised our bowling skills to see who could be the most accurate and hit the wicket.
Beech and Sycamore Classes enjoyed our STEM performance and workshops about engineering. We loved the challenges and drama during the performance and worked as teams to create marshmallow and spaghetti towers.
Our whole school enjoyed taking part in different activities based on different continents of the world to introduce our theme ‘Global Citizens’.
