Sycamore Rugby

Sycamore had a rugby session this week in P.E.

Roman Towns

Sycamore designed their own Roman towns, using clues to work out where best to place the homes and facilities!  We were shocked at the difference between Celtic settlements already found in the UK and the advanced settlements the Romans built when they invaded (which even included bathhouses and a theatre!) We planned our designs as a group and worked on our final designs independently.

Sycamore 3D shapes

Sycamore Class made a range of 3D shapes with cocktail sticks and sweet. What a yummy lesson!

Sycamore’s Scavenger Hunt

Sycamore Class on a Scavenger Hunt in our beautiful school grounds!

What better way is there to cool down on the hottest day on record than… WATERFIGHT! We all had such an amazing time and enjoyed some ice lollies afterwards.

Sycamore’s Trip to St Mark’s Church

Sycamore Class visited St Mark’s Church to meet the Reverend Peter and learn more about what it means to Love Your Neighbour. Some children read their Lost Sheep acrostic poems at the lecturn. We also explored the Church, sang a favourite song together and all had a turn to ring the church bell. We asked many questions and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The Lake District Trip

Everyone has had such a wonderful day in the sunshine today. The classes all did slightly different activities but some of these included scavenger hunts, sketching, making fairies, paddling, bark rubbing and so much more!

Sycamore’s DT Textile Project

During the DT textile project, Sycamore Class researched, designed and made successful finger puppets of sea creatures. They initially created paper prototypes in order to draw patterns with a seam allowance.
